Nature sounds in a pantomime
Hussies and clowns with saturated smiles
Twist cosmetic flashes between folded limbs.
Through barred windows reptiles cling
And sparking beige rainbows
That arch towards a wobbling ceiling fan.
The refrigerator sounds between transitions
Fresh ice tumbles to an empty bin
Pulled hair fogs the glass
As the odor of the older ice
Melts away in the breath of a cheap corner store binge.
And in a stark room
The large shaded lamp
Sheds enough light
To clutch hands
Before the brief seconds
Where everything can be forgotten.
